Frequently Asked Questions Why do you need my email address? To enable school friends to contact you. We do not divulge your email address. Initial contact emails are sent through our own system. Should you chose to reply direct to your old school friend, then your email address would then be made available to them. Can I use the same email address for different members? No - your email address must be unique for every user. If you do not have an email address, you can get one for free from http://www.hotmail.com. Your schools Why can't I find my school? Please provide as much of the name of your school as possible, along with the type (primary, secondary, college) and county. It is possible your school may have closed, changed name or merged. If you are unable to locate, please let us have the details of your old school by clicking on ie@lostschoolfriends.ie. We shall add your school after verification, please allow up to 5 days for your school to appear. Why am I the only entry for the school and/or my year of leaving? The site is still new, and will take time to build up numbers for different years of all schools. Please add your details - it is only a matter of time before someone you know registers. If you have elected to receive emails (in Your details) we shall let you know when someone else registers at your school. Can I record my name against more than one school? Yes - You can record your name against any school you attended. Simply locate the school and add to your details. Other questions How do I send a message to a school friend? Click the email icon against your friends name - this will allow you to add your own words to the message which is sent through our system, and will include your email address to enable your friend to reply direct. Full membership is required for this service - if necessary, you will be diverted to the upgrade page to enable you to subscribe. Does it cost to upgrade? Standard membership is currently free, and enables you to add your personal and school details and allows access to certain other parts of the site. To contact lost school friends, add messages etc, full membership is required which for the present time is also free although in due course we may have to introduce a small admin charge for new members only to cover ongoing costs. |
